Zero Waste Crew

Sustainability on set for Zero Waste commercial shoots

EcoSet service segment: Zero Waste set services

 

Reports to:  Production Supervisor, EcoSet Coordinator

 

Classification:  Hourly, freelance

 

Zero Waste Duties:

  • Implementing sustainability processes on commercial shoots

  • Communicating with all crew and talent about sustainable initiatives

  • Sorting compost, recycling and landfill on set

  • Managing the distribution of canned water and compostable food service products when purchased from EcoSet

  • Identifying and collecting reusable materials

  • Facilitating food donations when feasible

  • Overseeing equipment, supplies and expendables used on a production

  • Tracking and submitting data from each project​

 

Compensation: 

  • $18-$20/hour based on role (Key or Eco Crew)

  • Overtime is compensated after 8 and 12 hours per California employment requirements

​

Schedule:  Work days on set range from 12 - 16 hours. Schedule varies for each shoot, ranging from 1 - 5 work days per project booking.

Reuse Crew

Logistics support for materials diversion and donation services

EcoSet service segments: ReDirect, Materials Oasis reuse center

 

Reports to:  Reuse Coordinator, Materials Oasis Coordinator, Logistics Captain

 

Classification:  Hourly, freelance

​

Reuse Crew Duties:

  • Loading and unloading scenic materials, props, set dressing and other reusable materials

  • Working alongside Art Department and Scenic crews on strike and wrap days

  • Processing reusable materials at EcoSet's Materials Oasis reuse center

  • Facilitating deliveries and pickups, including driving, loading and unloading

  • Logistics support for EcoSet's warehouse operations

  • Prioritizing safe workplace practices

 

Compensation: 

  • $22-$24/hour based on role (labor or driver)

  • 8 hr work day guaranteed

  • Overtime is compensated after 8 and 12 hours per California employment requirements

Schedule:  Work days range from 8 to 12 hours. Start and end times vary based on production or project schedule and scope of work.
